Where Did Single Family Buyers Come From in 2024?

Evaluating single-family residential sales in the State of Maine from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024, most buyers came from within the State of Maine, with 69.27% of all purchases, equating to 9,897 homes sold last year. Ranking second are out-of-state buyers from Massachusetts, 8.71%; New Hampshire, 4.11%; Florida, 2.21%; and New York, 1.41%.

Where Did Maine Buyers Come From in 2023?

In 2023, most buyers who purchased a single family residential dwelling came from within the State of Maine. This accounts for 67.87% of homes transferred to fellow Mainers who were downsizing, upsizing, and rightsizing. This compares to Q4 statistics that showed 68.8% of purchases were Mainers.
